Tonbridge

Tonbridge is a market town located in Kent, England close to the River Medway.

Education

Tonbridge School was established in 1553 by Sir Andrew Judd. This is a boys school which is located in the centre of the town. There are also many grammar schools in the town like the JUDD school.

Sport

The town has two cricket clubs and they are Cowdrey CC and Tonbridge CC. The first club was founded in 1948. It also has a junior section and an academy. Participants of the club play at Swanmead sports ground.

Tonbridge CC has a modern pavilion where facilities are offered to club members. Tonbridge Angels are the name of the Tonbridge’s football team. It also has a canoe club and a sailing club. The canoe club was formed in 1977 and it meets every Saturday morning. The main event for the canoe club is race-training. Tonbridge has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Motorcycle racing is very popular in Tonbridge.
