Transport
Rail: In the year 1838, the Preston railway station was inaugurated. All the long distance train services are operated from the Preston railway station. All the rail services connected to the North-West are operated from the hub of Preston. Riversway is home to the Ribble Steam railway station.
Buses and Motors: The Ribble motor services operates many services from Preston to the surrounding areas. Preston bus station is one of the biggest bus stations.
Air: The Manchester airport is located about 40 miles south east, from Preston and the Liverpool John Lennon Airport is also located 40 miles south west of Preston. There is a direct rail service which is linked to Manchester Airport.
Foot Path: There is a public foot path known as the Guild Wheel and this was created in 2012 as a cycle route. The length of this route is 21 miles.
