Newcastle upon Tyne usually known as Newcastle is in Tyne and Wear, North East England, most dense city in North East. Newcastle is a part of both the Eurocities network of European towns and the UK Core Cities Group. Till 1400 Newcastle was a part of the constituency of Northumberland.
Culture
Newcastle has an impressive history of cinema. For 15 years (1791–1806), Stephen Kemble of Kemble Family operated the original Theatre Royal. The Theatre Royal, largest theatre on Grey Street created by John and Benjamin Green, started in 1837. In April, the Newcastle Beer Festival takes place and organised by CAMRA.
Sport
The city has a high sporting culture. Football club Newcastle United established in 1892. The city includes non-League football clubs, Team Northumbria, and West allotment Celtic. Newcastle United Women's Football Club is a women's football club established in 1989.
Transport
Newcastle’s airport is the biggest of the two airports serving North East and is about 6 miles from the town on the northern outskirts of the city near Ponteland. The Railway station of Newcastle is the busiest in Britain, also known as Newcastle Central station, first station on the East Coast Main Line and Cross Country Route.
