Maidstone

Maidstone is a settlement in the county town of Kent, England. Maidstone is historically significant and is situated 32 miles (51 km) east-south-east of London. The River Medway runs through the city centre and connects it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary.

Education

15 high schools, 23 primary schools and two special schools serve the area. Oakwood Park, west of the city, houses the University of Creative Arts, regional campus, where the Turner Prize nominated artist Tracey Emin, fashion designer Karen Millen and television personality Tony Hart studied

Transport and Communications

One of Kent's first turnpiked roads was from Rochester to Maidstone. The A20 is running through the city and the M20 is heading north. The River Medway was the primary means of transporting goods until the arrival of improved roads and railways
