Edinburgh

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and one of its 32 councils areas. Edinburgh is the second-most populous city in Scotland and the seventh most populous city in the UK. The city is the Church of Scotland's annual General Assembly venue. It is birthplace to national institutions such as the Scottish National Museum, the Scottish National Gallery and the National Library of Scotland.

Economy

Edinburgh has the most robust economy in any city outside London in the United Kingdom and the highest percentage of professionals in the United Kingdom, with 43% of the population having a degree or professional qualification. It is the most ambitious large city in the United Kingdom, according to the Center for International Competitiveness.

The City of Edinburgh Council has 18 nurseries, 94 primary and 23 secondary schools.
