Coventry is the city, administrative centre in the west midlands in England. It had a population of 316,915 presents it as 9th largest city in the England and 12th largest in the United Kingdom. Coventry is the second-largest city in the West Midlands region after Birmingham. Coventry motor companies have contributed to the British motor industry. The city won the subtitle of UK City of Culture 2021 in December 2007.
Economy
From 1896, Coventry has been the centre of motors and cycle manufacturing. The Jaguar company has preserved its corporate headquarters in the city, although the motor industry has declined. The production of machines tools was the primary industry in this city. Alfred Herbert Ltd became the biggest machine tool companies in the world.
Education
The City has two Universities. It has three further education colleges within the boundaries. Several secondary schools in Coventry are specialist colleges. It has a diversity of schools, and two are the oldest secondary schools. The Westwood Academy that is technology college near to the University of Warwick. The sherbourne field school is the special need school for the young people who have physical disabilities and situated in Coundon area.
