Cirencester occasionally is a market town in Gloucestershire, England, 80 miles (130 km) west of London. Cirencester lies on the Churn River, a tributary of the Thames River, and is the Cotswolds’ largest town. Cirencester is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the English-speaking world's oldest agricultural university, established in 1840.
Education
There are several primary and two secondary schools in the town and surrounding area, Cirencester Kingshill School on Kingshill Lane and Cirencester Deer Park School on Stroud Road. It also has Rendcomb College, an independent school, catering for 3 to 18 years old. The town used to have a grammar school that was 500 years old.
Sports
Cirencester Town F.C. were in the Southern League Premier Division in 2011. The group, known as The Centurions, moved to the purpose-built Corinium Stadium from their former ground at Smithsfield on Tetbury Road in 2002. There are two running clubs in Cirencester, Cirencester Athletics and Triathlon Club and Running Somewhere Else. There are three teams in the Cirencester Ladies Netball Team.
