Bracknell is a big town and civil parish located in Berkshire, England, the west most part of the Greater London Urban Area and the administrative centre of the district of Bracknell Forest. It is situated 11 miles (18 km) east of Reading, 9 miles (14 km) south of Maidenhead, 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Windsor, and 55 km (34 miles) west of central London. In the mid-20th century, when it was declared a New Town, Bracknell was once a market village and part of the Windsor Great Forest.

The area has several schools including St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, England School's Brakenhale School, Easthampstead Park School, Garth Hill College, and Ranelagh Church of England School. Further education at Bracknell and Wokingham College is also based in the area. The Silwood Park campus of Imperial College London is 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Bracknell town centre. The University of Reading is 13 km to the northwest and Royal Holloway College 13 km to the east.
