The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects all businesses that deal with the data of EU citizens. First introduced in 2018, the Regulation provides a single directive for all countries within the European Union, which governs how they should protect and process data, as well as how it should be transferred outside the EU or EEA.

Our 2-day Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation Practitioner course builds on the knowledge gained from our Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation Foundation course to provide complete guidance on how to implement a programme to retain full compliance with GDPR. The EU GDPR Practitioner certification demonstrates to employers you have the knowledge and skills required to carry out the role of DPO (Data Protection Officer) in any organisation affected by GDPR.

The course begins with look at two fundamental concepts: Data Subject Rights and Data Subject Rights. After an in-depth look at what these entail, it looks at the rules for processing data lawfully and how these can be followed. It follows this by exploring how data can be transferred out of the EU. The second day begins with guidance on how personal data should be protected, before progressing to cover Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), the concept of Need-Want-Drop, and specific considerations covering the protection of cloud data and the practicalities of GDPR compliance. The course concludes with the GDPR Practitioner exam after which candidates will be certified GDPR Practitioners.
