To join a Six Sigma Course, one has to either be a postgraduate or a graduate with at least 2 years experience in any job or hold a diploma with 4 years experience in any working field. To get into the course, one must pass the proficiency test, which is a written test given to select members. The candidate must show competency within a learning environment. This will show that the candidate will be able to perform well within an organisational team also. Getting in deserving candidates is done only because the course requires individuals who can cope with the coursework and can understand the process of the programme.

Six Sigma Certification has three levels to achieve by any individual to get the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Firstly, the candidate will have to be certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and then he/she can move on to be certified as the Six Sigma Black Belt Candidate. The candidates will also be given proficient training in Total Quality Management and the use of MINITAB. They will also have courses in DOE/TRIZ. By all these certifications within one coursework, the individuals are trained to become organisational pioneers and they also prepare one to be prepared to handle any kind of pressure and solve the given problem at hand.
